Misfits - Emily Brimlow — Mugatunes
Emily Brimlow lives in a van. And, quite frankly, it’s hard to blame her.
At a time when much of the world has been quarantined at home, Brimlow, a Canadian born pop/soul singer and songwriter, has been hitting the road with her life partner, Nathan, simultaneously exploring both the American and musical landscape.
Brimlow’s latest single, “Misfits" is, in fact, a melodic account of her earliest memories of Nathan, as well as the fast-moving nature of their relationship. In less than four minutes, Brimlow brilliantly captures the essence of their story.
“Misfits” officially drops on October 23.
“It felt like my crazy finally met the same kind of crazy,” shares Emily. “When ya know ya know, and you kind of just want to get started on living the great adventure of life together.”
Though just 25 years old, Brimlow’s life has been nothing if not an adventure. Originally from British Columbia, Brimlow began singing and playing guitar at family shindigs under the tutelage of her father, also an accomplished musician. After graduating from high school, she spent time in Australia, where she toured with her band, bringing her infectious blend of soul, indie-pop, and world music to small towns across the Outback.
